Plot twist you can do several days by train to the boats and then finish on the boat. Best way to see it.

My husband and I took the train from Anchorage to Denali, we stayed a week at Denali. We took the train back. The Gold Star plan is definitely worth it! We loved every minute!

I worked on the train for 7 years and You can't compare the two. One is looking at glaciers and coastal towns and the other is looking at water. It all depends on what kind of vacation you want.

It was all great for us, until our train broke down and we were stuck on it for 12 hours, going from Denali to Anchorage. The train attendants were -exceptional- in keeping everyone calmed down 😂.

Massive agree!! I did this same route a couple years ago and the skeptical looks I get from people who want to cruise — I’m like look, boats are cool, but they can’t go inland like this😍
