@green_wood_spoons: Have you eaten from a wood bowl? It’s a grounding experience. Yes, I’m biased. However, I deeply believe there’s something magical about eating with wood. Maybe it’s the facets left by the skilled hands on a carved spoon, or the tactile texture of tool marks on the outside of a bowl. Perhaps it’s the warmth of the wood, or maybe the sound of a wood spoon scraping the last bits of food from the bottom of a wood bowl. Well, these are things that I find meaningful, if not magical. If you’re in the Madison area, I’ll have some pole lathe turned bowls, using methods that date back centuries, for sale tomorrow (Saturday Sept. 21st) 8:30am-noon at the Stoughton Community Farmers Market It will be a good day to shop for a bowl in person. I’ll have some budget bowls that are from demonstrations that I’m able to offer at an entry point that doesn’t hit the wallet as much as my more refined work.
