@constellationinspiration: end-of-summer treats with produce from my recent trip to the farmers market 🍅🌽🍓🌱 ~ heirloom tomato tart with aged cheddar and parmesan ~ olive oil sugar cookie with strawberry jam and basil sugar ~ sweet corn cookie with charred corn kernels a highlight for me this summer has been visiting the farmers market once or twice (sometimes even three times) a week. i bought the most beautiful tomatoes this season and i still audibly gasp every time i cut into them. the tomatoes are so perfect that you don’t need to do much to them, but when i do have the time, i love using alison roman’s tomato tart recipe. top with lots of parm before serving. there is arguably no better fruit than a ripe local summer strawberry (it’s like eating candy), and to extend the season for myself, i’ve been cooking them down into strawberry jam to add into cookies and cakes. these chewy olive oil sugar cookies get swirls of strawberry jam and are topped off with basil sugar. the sugar gets extra crunchy when the cookie cools and it adds a lovely textural component to each bite. …and you already know my love for corn. these have became a regular in my recipe rotation. corn cookies are topped with a piece of brûléed local corn and lots of flakey salt. #farmersmarket #bakefromscratch #baking #heirloomtomatoes #corn
