@sophiemorrisofficial: I absolutely love seeing a supermarket croissant that is made with butter and NO oils 👏 just like croissants should be made!! This swap is a great example of swapping from an ultra processed croissant to a more minimally processed croissant 🙌 If you saw my biscuits reel you’d know that I love seeing any baked product in the supermarket made with real butter because it reminds me of my own food company from my early 20s called Kooky Dough where we prided ourselves on using the finest Irish butter! We developed a bake at home cookie dough using the same ingredients you’d use at home so you could bake homemade cookies in just 10 minutes! Using real butter made them taste SO good but I remember the huge pressure we were put under to switch to an alternative when we were exporting to a large retailer in the UK in order to make it cheaper 😔 We didn’t switch but it meant we were making very little per roll of Kooky dough because of the low price they wanted to sell the product 😞 It is this experience of running my own food business and supplying big retailers in Ireland & abroad that has given me a deep understanding of the food industry and why I feel so passionate about teaching what goes into the products on our supermarket shelves. So that’s a little bit about me that many of you might not know! So this series is really about raising awareness about food labels, to read ingredients to empower yourself with knowledge to know how to make some simple swaps that work for YOU and help reduce your exposure to ultraprocessed foods 👌 Because we can’t control the food environment in the supermarkets but we CAN shop a bit smarter for the benefit of our health ❤️ .. #realfood #nutrition #ingredientsmatter #supermarketswaps #ultraprocessedfoods #croissants #foodswap
