If you really ride on long trips, you wouldn’t want loud pipes. I used to clip hockey cards in the spokes on my bicycle too.

I have a loud motorcycle because I enjoy it being loud that's the only reason to have it the loud pipes save lives is just an excuse and everyone knows it

If my car windows are up I am not hearing anything. this may have been true 20 years ago but sound muffling in the cab on normal cars is fairly good now.

dealt with this first hand as a cager. at reasonable speeds loud pipes will make you more aware of a biker plus the "WTF you doing" rev bomb is more effective

I'm somewhere in the middle too. I think motorcycles should be louder than cars, but boomer harleys are too loud, you can't even tell which side the sound is coming from

I guess that’s right. Here in nz filtering is legal and my sound causes people to notice me. I filter in rush hour traffic and that’s when people are most distracted. Filter on electric? No thanks.

Not sure wether they really do. When I'm driving in a car, a loud motorcycle is giving me a heart attack if it passes me, because I only start to hear them right next to me 😅

My mother doesnt look on the street while driving. There were situations in which she nearly drove into bikers at stoplights so I believe a loud bike will make people notice me

It’s saved me before on a 60 mph road as it’s stopped someone pulling out in front of me on a blind junction. They would have had no clue I was there unless they had heard me
