@glenhelenraptors: Did you know that birds require a wide variety of surfaces and textures to stand on to keep their feet healthy? We call these perches! Here at the raptor center we make sure all our birds have a variety of dynamic and static perches (aka some that move and some that don’t!). This not only prevents pesky infections like bumble foot but allows them to practice balance like they would in the wild.
