I abandoned my mandoline after I cut off the tip of my finger and bought a food processor instead. Then I cut off the tip of my finger installing its slicing blade.

I'm super accident prone, so I know I can't have a mandolin. This was reinforced the 1 time I held one up at a yard sale to say "I can never own one of these" & cut myself on it. Hard No. 😅🥰
