I had a boss that was really nice respectful and allowed you to just do your job without interfering and therefore us as a team went out of our way to make sure we did good to make him look good..

Not only was I cleverly selective with my team of 7, I was also able to systematically reject a ton of “company shrapnel” from the higher ups to make sure we were all the best we could be.

I’m nice, but the team also hears my standards constantly and I coach them on when they are not meeting my standards. Your team needs you to be clear on expectations.
