In the bathroom scene with Grady, Jack never actually looks at Grady. He’s looking into the mirror the whole time. Same thing with Lloyd the bartender. Jack’s looking into a mirror behind the bar.

Exactly same with the Overlook in Doctor Sleep the novel, King depicts how the hotel was after Danny's energy similiar to the vampire people attempting to absorb steam from Shining people🤣🤣
