Apple Pie Recipe 🍏 Servings: 8 Ingredients: 4 large Granny Smith apples 1/2 cup butter 3 tbsp flour 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup water 9” pie crust (I used Marie Calender’s in the frozen section of the grocery store) - make sure to thaw pie crust before use 1 Pillsbury pie crust (In the cylinder roll in the bakery refrigerator aisle of the store) Seasonings: 1 tsp salt & 1 tsp cinnamon Recipe: 1. Remove skin from your apples and then chop into thin slices. Put into a large bowl. 2. On the stove, heat a Dutch oven or pot on medium heat with butter. When butter is melted, add in the flour and stir for 1 minute, until thickened. Add in both sugars, salt, and cinnamon. Stir around. Turn off the heat. 3. From the sauce, reserve 1/2 cup and set aside for basting the pie later. 4. Add in the apples to the pot and mix around thoroughly until all of the apples are coated in sauce. 5. In the pie crust, add all of the chopped apples. Spread out evenly. 6. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. 7. Take the pie crust out of the Pillsbury container and lay it out on a flat surface. Use a knife or a pizza cutter to cut strips, about 1” in width. 8. Use the pie strips and evenly place them on top of the pie, interweaving between each other (use my video for reference). 9. Use a basting brush to evenly spread the reserved sauce over the top of the pie crust. 10. Once done, add to the oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, turn the oven down to 350 degrees F and cook for an additional 25 minutes. 11. Turn off your oven and take the pie out of the oven. Let cool for about 15 minutes. Serve with vanilla bean ice cream and enjoy! #applepie #pie #thanksgivingrecipes #christmasrecipe #dessert
