I had some very interesting conversations with NICU doctors when I was pregnant. They told me that even though “viability” is like 21 weeks, they personally would only choose comfort care until ~29wks

Cardiac nurse and VERY mindful of my BP, A1C, cholesterol, and liver labs. Husband is a peds doc and we have had very honest discussions about what points in a pregnancy we would choose comfort care.

I'm a med student and came home every day from my surgery rotation with a "if this happens, pull the plug right away" from the SICU patients. Value my autonomy too much to be alive for the sake of it.

The way female doc will tell me almost all of them took low dose aspirin pregnancy to prevent complications yet it is extremely under prescribed to pregnant women in the general public.

Vascular RN - wear compression socks, don’t smoke or quit, alcohol isn’t good for our bodies & brain, at all. Diet & exercise should be prescribed just like medicine.

I think there is ableism in there too. They are always shocked at what people survive and how happy they are despite a disability.

ER doc here… would not want to be resuscitated at all in case of hypoxic arrest, severe TBI, or any cardiac arrest if CPR is not started within 3 mins

Becoming a nurse has definitely changed my view on medical interventions. If my quality of life will tank, I'm ready to say my goodbyes. 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

ER doc here. I will not hesitate to start blood pressure/cholesterol meds if they get high despite diet excercise. Most medical disasters I see (strokes, heart attacks etc) are caused by these things

So agree. First question I ask. Sadly most say it depends on you, unless they are your friends. Then they tell you their truth.

What are "allergy shots", never heard of them. Also why are they better than antihistamines?

Pulmonary Critical Care. I see people wasting away on ventilators everyday. To counter this, I strength train 6days a week to maintain functionality and build muslce reserve to tolerate treatment such as MV or chemotherapy
