genuine question: is the incidentals hold amount listed on the information filled out when booking the stay? I don't travel much $$ but if I did it would be necessary for me to know this amount 1/2

actual question, is the hold actually holding the money till they leave? so they can't use that specific 150? or? cause I wouldn't count on that at all.

People will get mad no matter what the hold amount is.... when I worked at a hotel we had the lowest incidental I've ever heard of $20 and people still got big mad

I abhor the holds for incidentals. Then, a Front Desk Staff member said they just had an incident where the guest stole a MATTRESS!!!!!

car rental is a same deal and sometimes the hold can be upwards to 1000 depending on the car and company

😭 as a night auditor i get this all the time and i dont have a filter so i like to just leave it at "you wanna get the room or not? if not please leave" 🤣 i also love the awkward "intimidation"

Honestly the problem is these holds are treated the same as charges by the bank and take forever to release. I’ve had holds that took over a week to post to my account. But it’s not the vendors fault.

Lately, I’m finding most hotels don’t even ask for the hold anymore if you’ve pre-paid for the room. It’s been quite a refreshing change of policy.

I went to a hotel once in Austin and they charged the same amount of incidental as your stay. So I had to spend the weekend with almost no money because it was close to $1000
