@principal_lamb: Here’s on of my biggest reflections about school leadership: It’s less about what you know and more about how you make people feel. #principalsoftiktok #teachersoftiktok #leadership #school
My admin makes me feel like a terrible teacher. I’ve been teaching 29 years.

Great thoughts. I dont think a principal needs to know content but know what it looks like when students are learning.

I agree with this 100%. As a music teacher, I would like to add that feeling like my job matters and just as important as reading and math and having support in that would be great too

When admin works to build relationships with their teachers AND students, it means more than a jeans pass or candy bar. We are so thankful just to be treated as the professional we are! 💜

as an admin do you feel that having the lesson objective and success criteria actually does something or do you think it's a waste of time or whatever your opinion is?

Correct. Support your staff when children or parents aren’t getting thier way instead of backing the bus up over them.

Very late Thursday night our school had you know what threat that was found to not be credible but was still very concerning. We had many, many students absent and an increased police and county security presence in the building. it was eerie and unsettling but we as teachers did our best to make the day as positive and normal for the students as we could, and I truly believe the only reason that we as teachers were able to do that is because our admin continued to be as positive and supportive for us as they always were despite how heavily it must have been weighing on their minds. how I knew they were up all night dealing with this and how I'm sure that they were back end things we knew nothing of taking place all day. Nothing in the world can compare to supportive administration. I love hearing about what you do and when I see your videos and think about my own admin, I always have to think about how many amazing teachers we lose because they don't have administrations like that.
