He is the Child of Light and the son of the Earth Mother Goddess, Modron. It is said that he was kidnapped for three days after his birth making light go into hiding. In truth, there is little evidence that Mabon was celebrated in Celtic history, and the term Mabon was applied as recently as the 1970s. But it is the autumnal equinox all the same, and a time of harvest and warmth!
