After 6 days in the ICU, Duke was finally discharged & able to come home. Duke was put on three new medications & an increased dose of Vetmedin. This makes us a nervous wreck because these medications, although they help his heart, can very seriously & negatively affect his kidneys. We’re hoping the dose of his meds is one that will help his heart without hurting his kidneys. My boy is not fully himself & its hurts seeing it. I know it’s because of his heart. He wants to play & wants to run but stops because he doesn’t feel right. He spends most of his days sleeping. He did lose a good amount of weight over the last week & we’re trying to get his appetite back to normal (almost there!).
