@drsermedmezherexplains: “It’s Bad Period Cramps” #wait Endometriosis is often misunderstood as just "bad period cramps," but it's far more complex and serious than that. It occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus, called the endometrium, grows outside the uterus in places like the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or other pelvic organs. These growths still respond to hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle, leading to inflammation, pain, and sometimes the formation of scar tissue. The pain caused by endometriosis can be debilitating and may not be limited to menstrual periods; many women experience chronic pain throughout the month. It can also lead to other symptoms such as painful intercourse, digestive issues, fatigue, and infertility. Endometriosis is a chronic condition that significantly affects quality of life and often requires long-term management, including medications, surgery, or lifestyle changes. It's important to understand that endometriosis goes beyond menstrual discomfort—it’s a complex disease that can severely impact physical and emotional well-being. #endometriosis #pain

How does endo behave as a comorbidity of Ehlers Danlos hypermobility? Also have you seen cases of reoccurrence With HRT after removal of uterus and ovaries?

I had it so bad it required an hysterectomy at 27. My uterus was never going to allow me to carry a child. I was dismissed by dr’s for 10yrs before finding one who listened. Women deserve better

10% is grossly underestimated! In my Dr office the 3-4 doctors on staff are doing 30-40 excision surgeries a week combined!! And the majority of them are now teenagers. 🥺
