It always bothered me that so many of Batman's villains couldn't seem to decide if they were supervillains or mob bosses. I mean Joker is a lunatic, but he tends to have a crew of goons on call.

I figured Peguin could hold a show mainly because he already did in the first season Of Gotham, he was the main reason you tuned in for that first season. 🤣

it seems like gritty shows that take place within a comic book world, but lack the fantasy of a superhero/villain, always fall flat for me. Gotham, and the Alfred show just seemed bland l. if I wanted a good police procedural, I'd watch The Wire, Shield, or True Detective

I'm really hoping that the fantastical elements of the universe end up being foreshadowed in the show, not to much that it's in your face, but little references that this isn't a normal city

The mob nonsense of Batman mythos has always been my least favourite and I feel like it’s what drives the “gritty realism good, no fun supervillains allowed” of certain adaptions so I’m wary 🫤

Apparently the Penguin comic book by Tom King is very good too. Seems like a lot Batman villains can hold a story on their own with stuff like the Poison Ivy solo series.
