Add this Bay Area gem to your list 👇 Reminder: my hiking newsletter will be shared next week a little early, so don’t miss 5 hikes for January that will include trail links! And be sure to follow @outdoorwiseliving for more hiking & travel inspiration. And get ready: you’re going to see some awesome new spots I’ve never revealed before to inspire more exploration in ‘25. If you have specific requests for trails guides, be sure to let me know in the comments. Here’s the guide to visit this magical & underrated spot, that’s perfect for winter break or starting a New Year’s resolution: 🥾: Bluff trail (north side). Stay tuned for a trail guide of the south side! 🅿️: Online it says $8, but I didn’t see a place to collect any fees. I also have the Poppy Pass…copy into google maps: (38.5798853, -123.3337802) 📏: ~ 1 mile out and back. You must go down to the cove area before heading up near the creek ⛰️ : approximately 200 ft 💦: Miller creek will have some small waterfalls as you climb up the bluff 🧒 friendly: Yes, be careful by the steep bluff edge 🧺: Picnic tables at parking lot; Stump beach makes for a great place to enjoy lunch ♿️: No 📅 Best times to visit: Avoid the fog (good luck predicting it) 🚽: ‘primitive’ 🐕: not allowed ⚠️: Trail is unstable and the last part down to the cove requires a bit of a scramble. So while this is not a long hike or a lot of elevation, I rate it as moderate and I don’t think my mom could do it (sorry mom). 🗑️: Always remember to leave no trace and explore responsibly! Happy trails. - Dan
