Question for you, you mention there are spots in the Bible where god doesn’t know all things or is in all places, could you expand on that? Also I love all your videos, keep it up!

Love the Lego analogy. That helps. I still don’t understand why folks go to so much trouble to construct these edifices though. Faith is so straightforward. All the machinations seem like ways to weasel out of certain obligations and/or to weasel INTo as a substitute for faith if you’re got doubt.

I’m 50 years old and when I was probably eight, I read the book of Job in a closet, and took notes on a legal pad. Got up the next day and went to church with my dad and asked them to answer my quest

I agree with the fundamental thought process of your reasoning. However, the idea can be extrapolated based on information in the Bible. Not a difficult leap.

Such a central and important idea like trinity should and must be present in no uncertain terms in revelation. Since it is not,it is invented

Idk if I’m missing something, but didn’t the other guy show an example of 1 verse very plainly containing the concept of the trinity?

John 1 -1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.

Dan, there's a process called discernment, whereby study and reflection on scripture and tradition, with the aid of reason, leads to new understanding. Not the same as invention.

Eh, you don’t have to presuppose the things you mention by reading something like Mathew 28:19 and naming those three individuals “the trinity”

I get into the debate over all of these conceptual frameworks with some regularity. Trinitarian belief is a pretty ambitious stretch from the text

Performance arguments !!yes exactly ! This seems to be part of their bread and butter. The invisible issue. I mean I do this in the mirror to win “arguments” but I don’t post that!!

Regarding his last point, to be fair, his main argument was on why the word trinity isn't in the Bible if the trinity is true, and his argument is sound, as far as it goes.

You said that Trinity is a philosophical innovation of the 2nd-5th centuries, but why they put it in the bible through Johannine Comma 10 centuries after?

Josh :
most of the gospels most likely weren't written till the 2nd century, but while the concept of trinity isn't in the gospels explicitly, the transition from monotheism to the trinity was in progress.

the Lego analogy is good, but trinitarians don't leave blocks out. They accept that all the pieces are important, and infer what they mean taken collectively

I feel like the Bible wouldn’t be used as LEGO if it wasn’t commonly broken up with chapter and verse numbers. Why do most versions have the numbering?

JAH :
You cannot write the Gospel of John or Luke/Acts unless you have the basic idea of the Trinity. Of course there was refinement 2-5 centuries. But the concepts are clearly in development earlier.
