So when I was told it was wrong it all then clicked. But in that same logic there still a non defined variable. If it’s $1 more, the ball can range from 1cent to 9cents. Why .05?

If you have a ball that’s $0.05, a dollar more would = $1.05, totaling $1.10. If the ball was $.10, a dollar more would = $1.10, totaling $1.20
