Mum cats often don’t actually care for their babies once they’re a certain age and the babies are independent ! It’s just a human trait we’ve given to them out of empathy :’)

opposite end but my cat was a mama before i met her - i ended up connecting with her foster family and got to see pics of her with her kittens (‘: the mamas get happy endings too don’t worry <3
