@olibrandoncoaching: This I why I like daily weighing during a fat loss phase Instead of the scale dictating whether I have won or lost each day during a fat loss phase. Fuck how am I up half a Kilo, this is weight loss stuff is pointless. I just see it as daily data which I average across the week. This is a more logical way to assess progress. Because I know that weight loss isn’t linear - my weight will likely fluctuate up and down each day. So I compare my average weekly weight over the weeks of my fat loss phase to see if my weight is trending in the right direction. It’s common to think that your weight spiking means you’re losing progress Which can trigger the all or nothing mentality and potentially lead to giving up. One of my clients has been working on not letting weight spikes derail her. Even after her holiday, she knew her weight will likely spike when she’s home. But that’s fine, because she understands that the spike in weight is likely just water retention and it will come down again. This is how you should handle weight spikes as well! Realise it’s likely just water retention and if you continue with the process it will come down again and you’ll continue to make progress.
