my parents called the cops on me once due to a political argument, and I had to get my psychiatrist on the phone to prevent the cops from baker acting me. it’s terrifying

I told ER staff I felt like I was going to die because of the amount of pain I was in. I was admitted to a psych ward against my will. I had endometriosis.

Yep, all of this. Also I am a law student and i think its important for people to know that making a “not guilty by reason of insanity” plea (unfortunately that is what its called) actually leads to people being incarcerated for LONGER than if they had been imprisoned for the crime.

I've been thinking a lot about the "soft policing" aspect of psychology a lot and also how we pretty much had to invent the disciple because we don't practice indigenous child-centered/led child rearing and how some of the core foundations from it were straight up stolen/bastardized from Indigenous wisdom. Idk I haven't gathered/woven all of those thoughts up yet but it's been percolating

Most ppl can’t decipher the diagnostic criteria of the personality disorders tbh most dk the difference btw mood and personality disorders and the comorbidities amongst them 💁🏾♀️
