Go for it. I used to look through everyone’s bins. Got caught a few times and they just laughed and said they would put them aside for me and my daughter. Win,win.

U could do a letter box drop on your walk path & state what day u will come past so people can leave them out, it all adds up so even if they only have a few

There are at least three people in my area that go around and take them from recycling bins on bin day, it doesn't bother me at all.

Go for a walk through your local LIA and ask the businesses if you can collect their cans. No knd has time to sort recycling. I know my work depot throws out bin loads a week. (You might need correct footwear and a high vis vest to enter some places)

I saw a man checking my recycling bin for cans very early one morning. after that I made sure to pack all the 10c ones into a bag to make it easier for him to grab them. I'm too lazy to redeem them, but happy if anyone else wants them.

So why not write a note and include a sticker. Ask them if they are okay with you collecting on bin day if they are put a sticker on the lid. Follow-up with a thank you note. No need for face to face

Come on everyone leave your bottle out in a tub beside the bin so they can be recycled. I save mine for a young boy saving for a car he is making with his dad
