Name a better combo than Suqaar and malawax? I’ll wait 🙃🤭 INGREDIENTS For Malawax - 4 cups plain flour - 2 medium eggs - 1 cup sugar - a pinch of salt - 1/2 pint of milk - water optional to get desired consistency For Suqaar -500grams of boneless beef (suqaar cut) - oil - 1 large onion - 4 garlic cloves - seasoning: salt, curry powder, garlic powder, paprika, vegetable seasoning, soy sauce/teriyaki sauce - 2 large potatoes (cut into similar size as suqaar) - Peppers (various coloured ones to add some colour to the dish) - Handful of coriander METHOD 1. For malawax, mix all the ingredients together in one bowl using an electric whisk until no clumps. The better should be runny but not too runny (watch consistency in the video. 2. For the suqaar, add some oil to a pan (enough to coat bottom of pan) 3. Sauté your onions and garlic until soft 4. Add your beef and season with salt, curry powder, garlic powder, paprika, vegetable seasoning, soy sauce/teriyaki sauce 5. Put on medium heat and cover with a lid for about 30 mins, stirring in between (dont add any water, the beef will produce its own water) 6. Once beef is all brown and looks cooked, add in potatoes and stir. The potatoes will cook with the beef juices so no extra water needed. 7. Cover for another 20-25 mins on medium low heat, stirring in between until the potatoes are cooked and meat is soft. You can add extra water if you want more of a maraq but I prefer dry so dont add any. 8. Finish by adding some sliced onion, colourful peppers and coriander. 9. Serve with the malawax and enjoy 😍 #somalifood #fyp #suqaar #malawax #somalitok
