@jeeves_ny: This is a dry cleaners guide for washing and caring for silk at home: 1) Test an area first with some water to ensure it doesn't bleed. You need to be careful of bright colors, like red, bleeding onto light colors.  2) Once it's passed the test, grab your favorite 'no rinse' detergent that has some form of conditioner in it. Add a tablespoon or two to your bucket, silk, or basin and wash with up and down motions. 3) Squeeze them out, try not to wring too much, and then air or tumble dry. They'll be fine in the dryer just don't overcook them! 4) Odds are there will be some wrinkles so steam or iron on a low heat.  5) Enjoy your freshly cleaned silk garments! Pro tip - if you need to pretreat a stain on silk use a gentle stain remover and don't leave it on very long.
