You almost definitely don’t want to tune it to your piano, because the lyre was almost surely not tuned to a tempered scale, but was more likely tuned to a Pythagorean tuning

for greek lyres there are special wrist wraps you can diy that make it way easier to play it 2 handed! you wouldn't have to hunch to keep it in place

it will definitely take at least a week for the strings to settle in. also weather and humidity will affect the tuning and tone.

Be especially careful when tuning I’m learning the lyre too and I got too frustrated tuning one day and snapped a string 😭

Beautiful! I'm also learning that song on the harp right now 🤭 I don't know if lyre and harp have the same technique? but you might get a better sound when you close your fingers into your palm
