Too much sichuan pepper corn. You want to make oil from it if you out it right un it might be too much. Use broth instead of water for base. Add lao gan ma chili oil for color

Would recommend using Lee Kum Kee brand of doubanjiang (it’s much redder), less Sichuan peppercorns (or sub with some Sichuan peppercorn oil to taste), and adding oyster sauce!
