@jason_swet: DISCLAIMER: 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒔 𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝒗𝒂𝒓𝒚 I am not a creative director yet. But this is my journey! And my goal is to get to a point where I can confidently assume that role. Having had “creative lead” responsibilities in the past has given me a taste and honestly been one of the best training grounds for me. I didn’t even know that was a thing when I started! Every agency handles things differently though. The important part is just communicating with your managers/leadership when you’re wanting more responsibilities and to stretch your leadership skills. View it from their perspective. How can you take work off of their plates? How could you maybe take an entire aspect of the business off their plates? You may need to gain their trust first. I said senior level, but even mid level creatives could be trusted to handle more parts of the business. One of the best pieces of advice I ever got went something like: “all I care is that I can trust you to not say something stupid in a meeting” Let me know any questions you have 👇
Thanks for the great content- 🫠any advice for someone looking to switch from architecture into creative direction/ working as a creative for sn agency?
