I have the same problem. i think what makes us stutter more is that we obstinately want to get the whole sentence out in one shot. we should try to speak word after word.

in the past year I’ve developed a speech problem, not a stutter, but neurological in origin. My speech is never normal, but like you it’s worse when talking to others. I talk normally in my dreams.
