Do you know your hair porosity? I have curly hair and found that curly hair products weigh it down. I have low porosity so the product just sits on it and does nothing.

I’m heritage is mostly Irish, and I have the opposite problem. Underside is mostly straight or kind of wavy, and then super tight curls on top.

Irish curls are just a new name for-- your hair is more damaged on the top, but under where it's more protected is your natural pattern.
