I have been stopped several times for many stupid reasons. In one case I was on a train platform waiting for my train, so I asked them for their ID card. Then the train arrived and they let me go.

The Japanese police don’t really have an option but to stop people that are told from their higher-ups they have to stop people and if they don’t, they get written up and punished

#FYI I usually do the second one. But those foreigners who are sensitive with policemen in their countries, probably do the number 1.

I will also add the police tried to stop me, because “foreigners don’t live here.” I was literally 10 minutes walk away from a building full of foreigner teachers. Utter nonsense.
