I went through those too. Fire ants float. Snakes swim to higher ground. Flood water will be full of harmful fungus & bacteria.

Manhole covers can get pushed up. If you have to walk through flood waters, prod in front of you with a long stick. You DO NOT want to fall into an open hole. Learned that in Hoboken post Sandy.

Also, maggots and flies become an issue after hurricanes. With dead bodies, dead animals and rotting food there will be an abundance of flies everywhere.

Night time would be absolutely hell especially with no generators or lights just pitch black and the sounds of water and everything is broken so anyone could get in, no safety no one deserves that

These are the things people need to know no matter where they live. This is also why schools need to start doing home ec, shop class, woodworking, electrical, plumbing etc.
