Chimney rock being gone has Broken my heart. I said rebuilding won’t ever bring it back. There’s a special feeling with the old buildings, made of wood, that creeks under your feet and the smell of that wood. It’s never gonna be like that again. 😩😩😩

I live in Asheville but my hometown was completely cut off. My parents live in Yancey. All I know is all roads leading to their house are completely gone & I haven’t heard from them since Thursday. -1

We dropped a bunch of stuff off at the Asheville Mall and the only way in was 26. Went to see 40 and it looked like the walking dead people were lost and did t know what to do

I built the covered bridge up there years ago and now it's gone 😭 so many good memories of living on the mountain for a couple years while working on the bridge. it will never be the same. 😢

I used to live in Rutherfordton, I grew up going to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Seeing this has broke my heart. All that history, including the Flower Bridge that was built in 1925, gone. 🥺😭💔
