Lived in France for 20+ years, speak fluent french, bit of an accent for sure, and they often reply in English. Even when my french is better than their English. So I go full on regional Scouse ☺️

That’s weird. Your French is perfect. 40 years ago, they couldn’t tell I was a Brit, and thought I was Parisien. Now, the vocabulary has reduced, and I’ve slowed down. Yours is perfect.

J’ai très peu d’accent but it happens to me too. Maybe it was the choice of a donut. Try again with chouquettes.
