It is normal if they have hyperlexia and hypernumeracy. I have 3 out of 4 of my children that are like this.

My daughter was like this she could even speak two languages. She was reading Harry potter at 5. She is definitely well above average in school but eventually the others caught up to her.

If all parents spoke to their babies like this, there would be a lot more children at this level. This was my daughter. She is now a 23 year old law student doing a double degree. At almost two, Abbey could read Mr Men books. It is possible, it just depends on the level of parental input and interaction. As a primary school teacher of almost 30 years, this lovely Mumma just has to be aware that if her daughter’s progress doesn’t continue at the same trajectory, when other children her age catch up down through track, Posie may experience difficulties accepting that she isn’t the genius she was lead to believe she was.

it is "normal" for kids with hyperlexia. Mine was 9months and is reading in both English and danish. At 2 she got her diagnoses. She's 8 now.

My son was talking at 4mos , walking by 6 and reading about the same time . He was tested at 18mos . He scored off the charts . Raising a kid like that will be the biggest challenge of your life .
