@zeezee25: the irony is, they gave “VIP” lanyards to us disabled guests 🥲 i’m not sure *where* the VIP experience actually was, but this was my experience of this exhibition! even with accessibility improving over the years, there is still SO much work to be done, and many buildings arent accessible old architecture is understandably less accessible, but this should have been more clearly explained on the website!!! 👏🏻 hopefully this gives you some insight on what to expect if you were thinking of going! #disabledtravel #accessibility #wheelchairuser #disabledcommunity #accessibilitymatters
Where was this exactly, tho?
The Van Gogh immersive experience is not just gonna be in one place, or even in one country and that makes a huge difference re accessibility! It's been in my country last year, in a place with elevators, but now it's come back & went to a place where there are none! 😭
I feel like this is more on the place/organizers & not on the exhibition itself. Lots of ppl involved in the decisions of where to place these things & no one or almost no one thinks about us 😡

the audacity of them to charge you £18 when you can’t even see most of the actual exhibition as a wheelchair user is crazy

That is so so sad that they just didn’t have any museum accessibility - something that should be fundamentally accessible to all

I went to something similar. It was a Lego exhibition and my partner booked it obviously it said wheelchair accessible and there were lifts we got there and they told us that there’s no left

I did immersive Monet they made it accessible by giving us a virtual reality glasses thing so we saw stuff that would have been upstairs downstairs

Was this the one in Glasgow? Cause I’ve seen videos and everything was very flat. Like no ramps or anything

I also went to this at the start of the year and do not reccomend! I use a crutch and there was no information to say that there was going to be limited access.

When the expo was in Dublin, they chose a big spacious hall from the Victorian era which only needed a ramp at the entrance.
