Understanding Islam: A Religion of Peace, Faith, and Guidance Islam is one of the world’s major religions, followed by over 1.9 billion people across the globe. It is a monotheistic religion, meaning it is based on the belief in one, all-powerful God — known in Arabic as Allah. The word "Islam" itself means "submission to the will of God", and a person who follows Islam is called a Muslim. Islam began in the 7th century in the city of Mecca, in present-day Saudi Arabia, with the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Muslims believe that Muhammad (PBUH) is the last prophet sent by Allah, completing the message that was previously delivered by other prophets like Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them all). However, unlike in Christianity, Muslims do not view Jesus as the son of God, but as a beloved prophet. The holy book of Islam is the Qur'an, which Muslims believe to be the direct word of Allah revealed to Prophet Muhammad through the angel Jibril (Gabriel). The Qur'an provides guidance for all aspects of life, including faith, morality, law, and personal behavior. Alongside the Qur'an, Muslims follow the Hadith, a collection of sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad, which help explain and apply Islamic teachings in daily life. A Muslim’s life is centered around the Five Pillars of Islam, which are: 1. Shahada (Faith) – Declaring the belief that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger. 2. Salah (Prayer) – Performing the five daily prayers at prescribed times. 3. Zakat (Charity) – Giving a portion of one’s wealth to those in need, usually 2.5% of savings. 4. Sawm (Fasting) – Fasting during the month of Ramadan, from dawn to sunset. 5. Hajj (Pilgrimage) – Visiting the Kaaba in Mecca at least once in a lifetime if physically and financially able. Islam places a strong emphasis on peace, mercy, compassion, honesty, and justice. Contrary to many misconceptions, Islam does not encourage violence or hatred. In fact, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught kindness toward neighbors, mercy toward enemies, and respect for people of all faiths. The Qur’an repeatedly calls for peace and the protection of innocent life. Muslims pray in mosques, and their weekly congregational prayer takes place on Friday, known as Jumu’ah. The Islamic calendar is lunar, and important celebrations include Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, and Eid al-Adha, which commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah. In addition to its spiritual teachings, Islam has made vast contributions to world civilization in fields like science, medicine, mathematics, literature, and architecture. During the Islamic Golden Age, Muslim scholars preserved ancient knowledge and advanced new ideas that influenced the development of the modern world. Islam teaches that life is a test and that each person is responsible for their own actions. On the Day of Judgment, all people will be held accountable for their deeds, and they will either be rewarded with Paradise (Jannah) or punished in Hell (Jahannam) based on their faith and actions. In conclusion, Islam is not only a religion but a complete way of life that promotes spiritual connection, moral values, community service, and personal discipline. It calls on humanity to worship one God, live justly, and strive for goodness in this life and the hereafter. #viral #foryoupage❤️❤️ #unfreezemyacount #allahuakbar #islamic_video #
