The problem is due to planned obsolescence not many cars will make it to 8 years without major repairs. And if your neighbor can afford to cycle cars before the problems start they are the smart ones

I don’t even like my cars till I hit 200k. Then I buy reliable cars from your neighbors at a significant discount because they took the depreciation hit.

Nooooooo, cars now are so bad. Had vw transporter and kept it to save money. On service and repair it cost me 8k $ extra last year so i leased a ford instead with new warrant
