I own several Cat Bird pieces and there’s a big delineation between their old and new stuff. My older pieces are amazing but I haven’t had the same cost-value success with them in recent years.

I think a distinction should be made between the in-house line at Catbird and the independent designers that they carry. I don’t love the in-house line (tiny bails on charms, etc).

My experience with Catbird has always been positive! I have several pieces (rings, necklaces, earrings, etc.) which I wear daily and have worn daily for four or so years 🤷🏻♀️

So I have a tinsel permanent bracelet from Catbird, and i’ve had it for two years and it hasn’t broken (even after snagging it on the daily). They’re sturdier than they look!

I got a 14k gold, moonstone, diamond ring from La Kaiser & the band was so thin it was always snapping. My jeweler reshanked it to 1mm for $300 so it wasn’t always in the shop. Annoying to pay $650 2/

I wanted a catbird ring for years then I finally went to the Brooklyn store. It was during a NYC visit and on my Birthday. The women working there seemed so annoyed that I was there. Such a bummer.

So I have shopped catbird having gotten married in nyc, their bridal stuff is better made than the others but I agree on prices. I have the pas de deux ring before they expanded more and it’s been 👍

I think this is a great place to look for indie designers. I found an engagement ring I loved from a designer they carry, but I bought it directly from the designer.

i think their cheaper/smaller stuff is good. i would not do their $$$ rings or chains, but i have a little charm that was decently cheap for solid gold and it’s great quality and hearty
