My first job was far from rewarding, with the effort I put in not matching the pay, especially since I was only on a job order contract. They’d even pull me in on weekends, treating me more like a personal assistant than a regular employee. The work environment was toxic—my coworkers were always gossiping and backstabbing each other. On top of that, my boss would belittle me for any mistake, attacking my character instead of guiding me. As someone new to the workforce, I had hoped for a place where I could learn and grow, but instead, I was dragged down by negativity and office politics. It was all about sucking up, rather than actual teamwork or development.
