The issue with telling men to talk to their lady about friendship priority is women tend respond with "you don't want to spend time with me/us", so the relationship wins out to ensure it's survival.

If your "friends" don't show up after not seeing you for 5 yrs, they aren't friends. The friend group I was in 20 yrs ago will actively reach out when they know I'm in town.

This holds true for me. I'm my wife's caretaker, we're both 36, she has alot of medical issues. I don't have any friends I can talk to or hangout with. In my spare time I'm just alone with my computer
