Fascinating. I once saw a wind test on wedged nails, wire nails and screws (on a roof) it was life changing. I repaired my roof last spring with screws.

idk if you've convinced me. screws are far superior to grip strength. but you don't want grip strength on boards that are shrinking and growing as this action can wedge them out.
