I don't know about -80's, but if there is an unusual amount of frost building up, it maybe a sign that your door seal is failing somewhere. Most freezers do this when that happens.

Ah yes, I remember the day there was too much ice the door wouldn't close correctly, we moved all the stuff in other freezers, and spent the day removing chunk of ice. Thankfully it was in summer
