@todayshow: Devastation is only mounting across the Southeast in the wake of #HurricaneHelene with entire towns decimated by one of the worst storms in the U.S. The death toll is now at more than 120 people and many others are still unaccounted for. Only 6% of U.S. homeowners have flood insurance but even an inch of water in your home can cause up to $25,000 worth of damage. With storms like Hurricane Helene getting stronger, experts say many people nationwide do not have the coverage they need. There are some things you can do if you do not have flood insurance. @stephgosk explains. #TODAYshow

It’s NOT all climate change! More building and infrastructure add to the flood and mudslide risks.

Stop it with the climate change stuff! Climate has been changing since time began. And hurricanes have been around forever. Nothing new.

Stop saying they don’t live in a flood plain so they didn’t have flood insurance. Everyone should have it. It’s cheap in non flood zones.

NO hurricane insurance bc they are in the Mts. If you are not in flood zone they do not offer Flood insurance and it is a separate policy. We mt people will build them back on our own! As we always do
