I did enjoy this explanation. First because French is my third language and it took me a while to learn it. Second bc I didn’t know this and I love learning. And last, bc it reminded me that I once tried to teach a Porto Rican ballerina 🩰 at my French ballerina girlfriend’s dinner party how to make the Franco-Mandarin Ü sound, after everyone else had failed. I did it by getting her to say and hold an O sound, I then grabbed her throat right behind her trachea, and slowly, very gently squeezed my fingers: and voilà - the Ü sound. Any more such similarities between languages that you know of? Could be a series! 🕉️🙏🏽🕉️

dun worry. german have exact ü which sounds like the Chinese one. but I hate it when there is ä and ö. 😂😅

I was told many years ago that if you speak either French or Mandarin you can learn the other language easily due to the common sounds was trying to be employed as a diplomat in those days

Mandarin is my first language and then I moved to Canada when I was a teenager. I think my English is good except I cannot pronoun words end with g perfectly. Like Dang/ Bang, always sounds weird🥲
