My biggest fear when I began living {a sober} life was that I would alienate many of my friends. 🤷‍♀️ When I post facts about alcohol, I always have that lingering fear in the back of my head that I’m going to piss someone off & they will treat me differently or our friendship will change. 💜 The thing is, I have discovered REAL bonds with both old and new friendships since I dropped the bottle. In the last 1,051 days, I have done TONS of work on myself and why I drank in the first place. You’d be amazed at how self aware & highly intuitive you become when you are consistent with a solid morning routine. 🧘‍♀️ During this time, I’ve witnessed a few friends backing off & others reaching out to me on a constant basis. Some friends I would have never imagined would be on this journey with me have been by my side cheering me on. At the end of the day, if you lose friends because you are improving your life, and let’s face it.. That’s exactly what sobriety is… then their chapter in your book of life is probably over & that’s okay. ✌️💖 Because you are making room for the bigger & better people, places & things that will come your way that truly align with your new life! ✨ Or you could be triggering someone into reflecting on their own drinking & they don’t know how to handle those feelings. You are showing them what is possible if they try.
