If someone was up and walking to the bathroom, I’ve never put them on bedrest because of a heparin drip… Maybe just walk with them to the bathroom?

if it makes you feel better, i work ems and had a pt cuss me and my partner out for not stopping for food on the way to the er. with a stemi.

I cannot use a purewick. It doesn't work on me. I have had nurses get mad at me because they wanted me to use it, and I just couldn't let it go.

I was on heparin for 2 weeks in the hospital (granted, idk how much) for blood clots and was able to get up with a nurses help whenever I wanted

I know it's frustrating to explain over and over. but it's hard for patients to surrender their dignity. This was a good example of having patience but also being firm.
