I've never had a symptom in my life, but my partner gets coldsores and all my immediately family did when I was growing up. I very probably have herpes and I'm cool with it.

You can contract herpes by shared a drink, kissing, sharing lipstick/ chapstick which are all possible forms to get herpes. Herpes can appear on your legs arms etc at the entry of infection.
