@cbsnews: JD Vance speaks about a friend who he said needed an abortion, and "she felt like if she hadn't had that abortion, that it would have destroyed her life, because she was in an abusive relationship." He adds that the Republican Party has "got to do so much better of a job at earning the American people's trust back" on the issue of abortion, including supporting fertility treatments and making easier for young families to afford homes. #vpdebate #news #politics #jdvance #debate
I just said this morning. JD Vance needs to run for president. How are the vice presidents acting better than the presidents are? They’re not insulting each other. They’re debating in a friendly way.

Vance came out on top in the debate. Wallz did very well though too in my opinion. They both spoke clearly, took accountability for things they've said and agreed on alot of issues. They just disagreed about how to solve said issues. I wish it were these two as President and VP. They could be the duo we need to improve as a society and start treating each other as humans. This world needs unity.

why are these two not the ones running for president? They are both well spoken, intelligent adults. If either of them won the presidency I would be happy with it.

Both VPs had great answers and they both genuinely agreed with each other on many things. I think it was a great debate. Lots of respect for both.

Debates like this used to be the standard. Respectful and polite DEBATES. Not screaming matches and insult hurling. Sad I’ve only ever got to vote in a world of the latter.

This is by far the best response on this topic I have heard. Essential to they are saying “ we will do more to support mothers, but it is still the people’s choice.

Why not leave it up to the individual who wants to make a decision for themselves and then they're stuck in a state where they're not able to? This makes no sense leaving it up to the state?

I’ve seen a good few clips now. I am pleased to see they were both very professional. No cutting each other off with interruptions and insults. It’s a stark contrast from the presidential debate.

Okay but I have a question abt this- if you’re leaving the decision up to the state, why don’t you just leave it up to the people? Someone pls answer this because I don’t quite understand

I actually teared up when Vance said all this! I told my husband “I didn’t think I could like him more than I already did… I was wrong”

I read a post from a mother who said “a lot of the times as a mother you don’t know how you’re gonna get through it, financially, emotionally, all of it. But god provides everything you need if 1/2

Vance said some crazy things, but he somewhat impressed me last night. He clearly has more outward respect than DJT, and seemed compassionate towards Walz. That being said, Tim Walz has me fired up!

I don’t know why people don’t get that when it’s put to the state level you have more control over what is going on. Less federal government means more control in the state that you live in. You’re able to elect who you want or if you can move to a state that aligns with your policies, but sometimes you can’t have both. You don’t wanna live in California because it’s a mess but you wanna be able to have an abortion.

I don’t know about them both being well spoken look Tom walz seems nice but like Kamala he’s not equipped. JD could step into the presidential if needed. Walz NO WAY

can we just make these 2 the presidential candidates instead of the other options we have? the difference in the professionalism of this debate vs the presidential one is insane

He’s right though when it comes to certain policies the states have to make their own decisions. Look at Nevada with slot machines go to any other state and tell me you see that in a grocery store!

Turning important decisions like this back over to the states also promotes voting on a local/state level. These elections are too often overlooked and we end up with people we don’t know in charge.
